We’re a third of the way through WandaVision and a lot of the show has been establishing the setting via era-spanning sitcom stories while occasionally taking a break to show cracks in the façade. Something is definitely wrong in Westview, but while we can see the errors like comparing two pages in Highlights, we don’t have the full picture yet. There are many theories out there already. Some completely outlandish, others far less so....

Bo Burnham’s Netflix comedy special Inside is just under two months old now and yet it already seems to be a disturbingly prescient bit of art about the internet era. And yet…the backlash to the backlash to the thing that’s just begun has already arrived....

Written by Richard O’Brien, and produced and directed by Jim Sharman, the original London production of The Rocky Horror Show premiered at The Theater Upstairs in the Royal Court Theatre on June 19, 1973. O’Brien originally saw himself in the role of Eddie, but Sharman wanted him to play the usurping alien butler Riff-Raff. During the stage productions, Eddie and Dr. Scott were played by the same actor. Paddy O’Hagan originated the characters....

With its sixth episode in the can, Moon Knight finishes its first (and perhaps only) season. The ending is abrupt and a bit surreal, but it does bring closure to the threat of Ammit and Arthur Harrow. Usually, these Disney+ Marvel shows end with cliffhangers to build up the Marvel Cinematic Universe itself, but Moon Knight sticks to itself and builds towards what’s next. From beyond the afterlife and beyond the constraints of the mind, Moon Knight has saved the day....

It’s strange to be a Moon Knight fan watching Marvel’s Moon Knight. At several points throughout this series, there have been moments where I wished I wasn’t already aware of the potential twists and turns ahead. I went into this knowing that Marc Spector had DID, that he was the avatar of Khonshu, that he was at least partially responsible for the death of Abdullah El-Faouly, that he could wake up in a psychiatric hospital and have to come to terms with what “reality” really means, and that he would likely be hiding a much murkier third identity inside him: Jake Lockley....

John Krasinski, James Charles and Addison Rae have also received nominations this year, as have Will Smith and Jack Black. Disney and Netflix will almost certainly be fighting it out again to snag the top brand award. MrBeast aka Jimmy Donaldson is also up for a Social Good award for his Feeding America Food Drive. The popular streamer dropped out of college to pursue a full-time career as a YouTuber, and has become one of the most-watched creators on the planet, dabbling in a winning combo of expensive stunts and philanthropy....

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 12 “We will spin together the threads of Hope.” There are so many characters in My Hero Academia that it’s understandable that certain heroes and villains operate more as visual gags or one-note jokes rather than serious threats. However, it’s always fascinating when characters who are superfluously designed end up evolving into important individuals, like Pro Hero Best Jeanist. This denim-clad defender of justice has been an anomaly throughout My Hero Academia’s run, but he’s continued to show audiences that he’s not someone to underestimate....

The streaming giant has acquired the global rights (sans China,) to Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries novels from Legendary Entertainment. The film, which adapts the first book, The Case of the Missing Marquess (2006), has already been shot, but is—like everything else—without a post-production timeframe due to the pandemic. Brown stars as the titular character, the tenaciously precocious 16-year-old sister of famed Holmes siblings Sherlock and Mycroft. She will be joined by an array of impressive co-stars, most notably another superstar of the Netflix stable, The Witcher’s Henry Cavill, who will play Sherlock, joined by The Hunger Games’ Sam Claflin as Mycroft....

After finishing the show in 24 hours, I wish I could sit here and write about how compelling it is and how well it portrays that point in teenage life where you’re impulsive, awkward, and nervous as you try to figure out relationships and find yourself. However, while the town of Wellsbury is picture-perfect, Ginny & Georgia is not as it is undermined by a significant race problem, primarily how it deals with its biracial lead....

When this site began, the Academy was still dominated by the prestige arthouse projects that were often made in Harvey Weinstein’s own image following Saving Private Ryan’s loss to Shakespeare in Love in 1999. It’s arguably the reason that an elevated crowdpleaser like The Dark Knight wasn’t even nominated in 2009....
